The new work by Majdanek Waltz is laconic in form but polished in style and content. Eight short pieces succinctly summarize the spirit of dark musical surrealism, rooted in the neo-folk tradition, yet long ago evolved into the realm of avant-garde sound collage. The lyrics of René Daumal and Evgeniy Golovin inevitably permeate the album with their dark intellectual charm. All that remains is to pour another glass, press the “repeat” button, and look into the Moon's face once again.
As always with Majdanek Waltz, many underground artists took part in the recording, incl. Olga Roschina (Krol), Sergei Pakhomov (Pahom), Sergei Vasiliev (Mad Pierrot Cabaret), Alexander Timofeev (Daite Tank (!)), and others.
The physical edition is limited to 100 copies and comes in the form of a matte digipak with an 8-page booklet containing lyrics and illustrations by Lena Lisitsa.
