Open to the Sea is an Italian musical project born in 2016 from the collaboration between Enrico Coniglio and Matteo Uggeri. Their self-titled album, Open to the Sea, was released in 2017 (Dronarivm). Later, in 2022, Saverio Rosi joined the duo, contributing to the creation of the album Tales from an Underground River (AdN/Silentes) and becoming a permanent member with Ten Rooms under the Sea (Dissipatio, 2023).
The project is characterized by the fusion of gentle and minimalist melodies with electronic elements and field recordings, crafting a unique orchestral arrangement. It is described as a process rather than a traditional band, emphasizing the collaborative and ever-evolving nature of their work.
Watering Paper Flowers and Snakes is a double CD released by AdN, featuring reissues and curiosities. The first disc is a re-release of the album Watering Paper Flowers, originally on Fluid Audio in a extremely limited & arty version on double mini CD-R.
The second disc includes a collection of unreleased tracks and reworks by Uggeri, Coniglio and Rosi, forming a sort of pastiche of exuberant and colorful pieces, always teetering between different musical genres and blending unconventional influences.
